FAQs

  • I was trained at Duke Integrative Medicine in person-centered coaching that utilizes positive psychology, motivational interviewing, and the neuroscience of behavior change. This means I am adept at truly listening - not just to what you say, but how you say it, the patterns of what you are sharing, and what might be under the surface.

  • At this time I offer primarily virtual coaching. However, if you live in Western North Carolina, and would like to work with me. Reach out!

  • My style of coaching offers you a chance to be heard without judgement or bias. I aim to help you get more clarity about where you are, what you want, and what actions you are ready to take towards the goals you have. Through accountability I can support you in following through with your goals! By reflecting on successes and failure, with a “learn-forward attitude,” I can help you to glean insights about what supports your success.

  • I am not a therapist! My scope of practice is much smaller. If you speak of harming yourself or someone else, then I will need to refer you to a therapist. That being said, coaching focuses specifically on: where you are now, where you want to be, and actions that move you forward. Do I ask big questions? Yes. Do emotions come up sometimes? Yes! However, the way I work with your responses will be different from a therapist! Instead of slowing down and exploring the hard emotions, I will acknowledge them and then redirect our conversation to focus on how you want to move forward.
